Socket Site Panel Discussion on Emerging Mid-Market Redux:

Soma Grand hosted an engaging SocketSite panel discussion at their private park on the 5th floor. Moderated by SocketSite founder Adam Koval, the panel, titled "The REAL (e)State of SoMa's Emerging Midtown Redux: The Momentum Builds," featured Daniel Hurtado, Executive Director of the Central Market Community Benefit District, Walter Schmidt, CFO of Trinity Properties, developer of the 440-unit Trinity Plaza project next door, Nina Gruen, Principal of Gruen+Gruen Associates and Soma Grand resident, and Astrid Haryati, Director of Greening for the city of San Francisco.

Hot topics included the impact the Central Market Community Benefit District (CBD) has had on the neighborhood, retail, restaurant and residential projects in the pipeline, the greening of the Midtown, and how a district becomes a neighborhood. After a robust Q&A session peppered with contentious remarks, "plugged-in" guests moved to the Club Room for some networking, nibbles and sips.
